ANXIETY ⁂ MY TRUTH
Updated: Aug 19, 2018
Anxiety is an emotion that consumes and misguides many of us. I found it important to share my journey of anxiety and the ways in which helped me overcome this deceitful fear that COULD have controlled my life.
Social anxiety is what I tend to call my anxiety and it began when I was younger. I love people, but I formed a fear of people my first year of high school. It got to a point where if I went into public, I would make sure I covered my face (don't laugh), with a scarf usually, and sunglasses. Every time the door bell rang at my house I would hide. School was extremely hard for me to go to, and it began to feel as if the walls were closing in; I decided to stay hidden and not stand up against these feelings.
As I grew older, and continuously forced myself to step out of my comfort zone, I realized how much I was learning by doing this and the immense strength I felt within myself as I began to prove to myself that I could face my fears and succeed. Ever since then I have had an urge to step out of my comfort zone; to learn, to grow, and to trust myself.
I went to college in Florida, thousands of miles away from home, and placed myself out of my comfort zone everyday; growing and becoming more confident in myself each step of the way. I traveled to 12 different countries with people I never knew before, anxious to the point of becoming sick before I did it, but pushing through the fear actually changed my entire life.
Today, I get anxious before I go to markets and shows, sometimes I have to leave because I start to get too overwhelmed and feel as if my energy is closed off for people to approach me. I have been using CBD pills before I go to my shows and markets, for some reason, it seriously helps me. I also find it extremely important to write, and listen to your own thoughts in means of rationalizing them. CBD is a constituent of the cannabis plant and if it does contain THC amounts, it is usually very little and not noticeable. The pills have traces of THC, and if you take a large amount, you may feel a little stoned (personal opinion). There is CBD oil that you can put into a tea or just right under your tongue that isn't as strong as the pills; but these things really helped me with my current anxiety issues.
Also, L-Theinine, found in CVS, and most pharmaceutical stores, helps a lot as well. L-Theinine is a natural supplement that is an amino acid found in Green Tea aiding those with anxiety, as well as high blood pressure. The awesome thing about L-Theinine is that it calms you, but does not make you actually knock out like a lot of anxiety supplements can do.
I am not on any prescription medications, although I used to be, but went completely off of them two summers ago. I chose to use crystals, plants, and a positive mindset, as well as working on staying grounded, to eliminate the feelings that used to hold me back from my full potential.
For more information on the CBD oil/pills, L-Theinine, or crystals for anxiety/staying grounded, please message me and I would love to give more information and details on it ♡
Mental illness is a journey that we all experience differently, but we share a mutual agreement that we truly cannot understand what the other person is going through. We can show kindness and give love by respecting the fact that we all are fighting our own battles.
